We have a very special mystery day lined up at Murder One 2026 for school groups featuring Alison Weatherby, Emily Hourican and Kevin Moran.
PRIVATE ~ FOR SCHOOLS ONLY
THURSDAY 15TH OCTOBER
CHARACTER IS PLOT
Time ~ 10am
Emily Hourican (Murder at The Ivy Hotel) shows us why the two are intertwined, and how they need to work together in order to further both. Paying attention to one over the other leads to a lopsided result – not enough action, or uninteresting protagonists. Make it both!
HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER
Time ~ 10.30am
Learn how to create the nail-biting, edge-of-your seat mystery stories you love with Alison Weatherby (The Common Criminals’ Club: Death Before Detention) , getting tips on creating tension, red herrings, building suspects. We discuss the critical elements of a murder mystery, look at examples from recent teen murder mystery books, and create the building blocks of our own whodunnit.
